Occupational health and safety in the workplace is a well-accepted concept.  We all want workplaces that are healthy and safe, not just because it is a legal requirement, but because it is the right thing to do.  Employers have invested considerable resources in developing and implementing controls and safe work practices for workers at their work sites.  But, does health and safety end at the work site when we leave at the end of the day?  Health and safety applies to everything we do in our lives, be it at work or play.   The concepts and practices that we learn and use at work should follow us throughout our lives and become so ingrained, that it is always the right thing to do.
